Metal Stamping & Forming

Progressive-die, mechanical-transfer and hand-transfer metal stamping and forming — 80 to 1,650 tons.

A 30-press fleet running customer programs from prototype to production. Small fine-blank jobs on 80- and 200-ton lines; mid-volume transfer work on 500–800-ton presses; heavy stamping on the 1,650-ton line for chassis, body and commercial-vehicle components. In-die staking, tapping and nut welding eliminate downstream steps and keep piece price competitive. Custom metal stamping for automotive, heavy-duty truck, brake systems and industrial programs.

Common questions

Asked on most first calls.

The questions buyers and program engineers usually open with. Anything else, ask us directly.

What press tonnage does Clover Group run?

Thirty presses from 80 to 1,650 tons: 23 at Concord and 7 at Breslau. The fleet includes one 1,650-ton press, three 800-ton, one 660-ton Komatsu, six 600-ton, two 500-ton and six 400-ton presses, plus smaller lines from 80 to 300 tons for high-volume hardware. Bed and bolster sizes are in the press-specifications PDF.

What is the largest part you can stamp?

The 1,650-ton press has a 240" × 96" bolster (left to right by front to back) and a 28" stroke, and runs progressive and transfer dies fed from coil up to 72" wide. The three 800-ton presses have bolsters of 206" × 60", 206" × 48" and 168" × 72". The largest part depends on the die and process, so send the drawing and we will confirm the press.

What is the largest press, and what runs on it?

A 1,650-ton press, added at Concord in 2025. It runs heavy-gauge chassis and body components in HSLA and advanced high-strength steel, including chassis rails, brackets, structural reinforcements and heavy commercial-vehicle brake brackets.

Do you run progressive-die or transfer stamping?

Both, plus hand-transfer. Dedicated progressive lines run high-volume programs around the clock. Transfer presses from 500 to 800 tons handle mid-volume sub-frames, brackets and reinforcements, and hand-transfer covers low-volume and prototype work. An LHS transfer system has run since 2017. In-die staking, tapping and nut welding remove downstream steps.

What materials and thicknesses do you stamp?

Low-carbon steel, HSLA, advanced high-strength steel (AHSS), stainless steel, aluminum, and brass and copper alloys. Heavy-gauge material up to .500" (13 mm) runs at the Breslau plant. Material is traceable from coil to shipment.

What production volumes can you support?

From prototype and low-volume runs to several million parts a year. Dedicated progressive lines run high-volume programs around the clock, and transfer and hand-transfer presses cover mid- and low-volume work. Across both plants Clover ships about 48 million parts and assemblies a year.
